The return to the polls is expected in 2027, but it is not excluded that there could be changes to the point of returning to the vote early. In Santa Teresa di Riva the electoral campaign for the next administrative elections has not yet officially opened, but work is already underway behind the scenes to forge alliances and build coalitions.
The outgoing government, after the two mandates of mayor Danilo Lo Giudice, will propose the current deputy mayor Annalisa Miano for the highest seat (barring second thoughts or surprises) and within the single-party majority we are working to try to keep the group cohesive and avoid escapes and departures. In recent months, stomach aches have emerged on the part of some members of the Council, above all because the name of Miano was more imposed than chosen collegially, but recently some positions have changed after the work carried out by the mayor, capable of concealing and resolving internal discontent. Among the malpancists there was in particular the councilor Gianmarco Lombardo, but after a “reconciliatory trip” to Fiumedinisi and the meeting with the leader of South calls North Cateno De Luca, any intolerance was overcome with the promise that in the next council session (in case of victory) he will hold the position of deputy mayor for the entire five years of the mandate and a commitment also made on other fronts. However, there is an element of news that has recently fallen on the Palazzo Santaresino, namely the possibility that Danilo Lo Giudice is the candidate for mayor of South Calls North in Giardini Naxos, where voting will take place in the spring of 2026.
