The implementation of the PNRR measures managed by ARCEA, the Regional Agency for Agricultural Payments of Calabria, continues at full speed. With decree no. 12, the Agency authorized the liquidation of a total amount of 2,496,848.44 euros, intended to support investments and the modernization of Calabrian agricultural companies. The resources were divided along two strategic lines for the development of the regional agricultural sector. The largest portion, equal to 1,758,850.46 euros, is intended for the modernization of oil mills, with the aim of promoting the ecological transition of production processes, improving the quality of Calabrian extra virgin olive oil and valorising the by-products according to the principles of the circular economy. A further 737,997.98 euros were instead allocated to interventions for agricultural innovation and mechanization, supporting the purchase of latest generation machinery, the introduction of precision agriculture technologies and the reduction of the environmental impact of agricultural activities.
“We are making the best use of the opportunities offered by the PNRR to make our agricultural system increasingly modern, competitive and sustainable – declares the regional councilor for Agriculture, Gianluca Gallo -. These resources represent concrete support for companies that invest in innovation, quality and environmental protection. We continue to guarantee rapid and efficient payments, so that entrepreneurs can plan their investments with greater serenity and strengthen the competitiveness of Calabrian production”. The provision of contributions constitutes a further step in the process of modernizing the regional agri-food system, ensuring liquidity for companies that have chosen to invest in sustainability, energy efficiency and technological innovation, in the name of an increasingly competitive and future-oriented agriculture.
