The Calabrian airport system closes 2024 with extraordinary numbers, marking a new historical maximum: 3.6 million passengers transported, equal to an increase of +7.5% compared to 2023. A sustained growth that confirms the increasingly central role of Calabria in the map of national and international connectivity.
Aeronautical movements (+4.7%) and cargo traffic (+8%) are also growing, confirming a progressive diversification and strengthening of the overall offer of the Calabrian airport system. International traffic flies to +25%, touching 796,458 passengers.
Economic results: consolidated net profit rather than quadrupled
The numbers of the Budget 2024approved today by the shareholders’ meeting, reflect the solidity of the path taken:
- Consolidated revenues of characteristic management: 35.3 million euros (+4%)
- Production value: 45.3 million euros (+10.8%)
- Ebitda: 5.5 million euros (+64%)
- Consolidated net profit: 1.4 million euros (VS 0.29 million € in 2023)
In detail:
- THE commercial revenues they pass from 7.9 to 8.5 million euros (+7%)
- THE airport rights and fees they go from 20.4 to 21.6 million euros (+6%)
Traffic development: sustainable growth and improvement of infrastructures
The strategic policies adopted by the Calabria Region in support of the airport system have had a decisive impact. Through an integrated approach, synergies have been activated with air carriers, local and international authorities for tourism and territorial promotion.
A strategy that is confirmed as winning also in 2025: the data January-April they record a more growth trend. Sacal now aims to overcome the threshold of the 4 million passengers by the end of the year.
