A stretch of beach in the municipality of Naso has been closed off by the Coast Guard due to reports of an alleged war device. In particular, as stated in the order issued by the maritime district office of Sant'Agata Militello and signed by the commander TV Pierdomenico Valerio Miscioscia, the object was located «on the bottom of the body of water in front of the Ponte Naso area in the immediate vicinity of the western side of the Naso Torrent at a depth of approximately 1 meter and at a distance of approximately 2 meters from the shoreline”.
The coast guard intervened immediately which, following the report received on 12 April and until the area is reclaimed, as stated in the document, has placed a ban on bathing, navigation and parking of boats, as well as fishing and any activity connected with the use of the sea for a radius of 50 meters from the coordinate point Latitude 38°09.331' N and Longitude 014°47.967'.
This is an area currently affected by nourishment works with sand and recovered sediments coming from the dredging, authorized by the regional Administration, of the beach in front of the Villa Bagnoli of Capo d'Orlando and of the “Marina” outport.
