A twist in the tournament with the elimination of Jannik Sinner, overcome in three sets by Jakub Mensik in their first career meeting. The Czech won with a score of 7-6(3) 2-6 6-3, demonstrating solidity especially in the crucial moments of the match.

The young Czech talent surprised the Italian in his first direct match, reaching the semi-final thanks to an incisive serve and greater clarity in the decisive passages of the match.

The match

The first set remained balanced until the tie-break, where Mensik raised the level and exploited a few too many inaccuracies from the blue. Sinner reacts with authority in the second set, dominated 6-2 thanks to greater aggression from the baseline and more effective responses.

In the decisive set, however, it is still the Czech who makes the difference: incisive serve, few lapses in concentration and the break that definitively directs the match to the final 6-3. This opens the door to the semi-final against Arthur Fils for Mensik, while in the other part of the draw Carlos Alcaraz and Andrey Rublev will face each other.
