Among the most requested regions of the South, Calabria is preparing to live a summer which, according to the number of travelers who have chosen it in the last “bridges”, suggests excellent predictions for tourism. We talked about it with the regional councilor for the branch, Giovanni Calabrese.

Forecasts give Calabria among the most popular destinations this year. Is the region ready to collect this challenge?
«Absolutely yes. The Calabria Region has embarked on a large and articulated strategic plan to increase the international visibility of its territory and consolidate tourism as one of the main economic development engines. Already the numbers on air traffic, which have reached almost 4 million passengers in the three airports of the region, represent a positive signal and confirm that ours is a “Four Seasons” region. Calabria is traveling on a strategy that integrates the improvement of infrastructures, the quality of the accommodation offer and effective digital communication that is enhancing the “Extraordinary Calabria” brand brand. We are present in many national and international fairs, with the aim of attracting international tourist flows in a sustainable and lasting way. We are working a lot with a program of interventions for the protection of the sea and the improvement of bathing waters and purification, in view of the summer season 2025; We are investing a lot on activities in the paths in cycle paths, encouraging slow tourism and investing in major events ».
