A body, in an advanced state of decomposition, was found this morning on the Messina beach of Rodia, returned from the sea where it had most likely been for some time. It's about the third unnamed body in a few days along the Tyrrhenian coast of Messina after the two identified a few days ago in the Aeolian Islands, the first between the island of Vulcano and the Gulf of Patti following a report from a yachtsman and the other off the coast of Filicudi. An autopsy has already been ordered on both by the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto and Patti prosecutors who are investigating the two findings.

The Carabinieri of the Messina provincial command and the Port Authority intervened on site and started further investigations. It is not excluded – and investigators and even officials from the prefecture of Agrigento are paying close attention to the findings – that the three bodies could be missing people from the shipwreck which occurred on 10 April in Maltese Sar waters.
