“Antonello” from Messina triumphs at the national ice cream competition: first place at the Sigep final in Rimini

Great pride for the “Antonello” higher education institute, which won first place in the national ice cream competition for hotel institutes, named in memory of Vittorio Bartyan, owner of Telme and past president of Acomag.

The prestigious affirmation arrived during the national final held on Friday 16 January in Rimini, as part of the 47th edition of Sigep World, one of the international reference events for the ice cream and pastry sector, within the Gelato & Pastry Lab space.

The awarded students and the team’s work

The students of the food and wine major Emanuela Russo, Aurora Falcone and Nunzia Costantino stood out and were able to win over the jury with their competence, creativity and passion, obtaining top marks.

The students were accompanied by the head teacher Daniela Pistorino and the teachers Antonino Iannazzo, Giuseppe Porco, Pietro Arena, Giuseppe Pagano and Santina Cosenza, who supported and guided the team’s training and professional path.

The winning creations and awards

The success of Antonello was confirmed thanks to the proposals “Soffio Mediterraneo”, “Nobel Story” and “Sinfonia Tropicale”, creations capable of enhancing tradition, innovation and excellence of raw materials, telling the identity of the territory. The preparations were also the protagonists of three episodes of the television format “Antonello a Tavola”, broadcast by the broadcaster RTP.

The recognition confirms the quality of our Institute’s training offering and the constant attention to the valorisation of young talents and excellence in the food and wine sector.”

As a prize, the Institute will receive a latest generation oven which will enrich the laboratory equipment, as well as a sample of excellent products for the production of ice cream. Also of particular importance is the possibility of hosting the Sigep selection competition at the school for the year 2026/2027, further recognition of the value achieved by Antonello’s training path.
