Approval of the guidelines for the prevention and protection system of girls and boys from the risk of mistreatment, abuse and inappropriate conduct in educational and educational services. A strategic document that strengthens the safety, well -being and quality of services aimed at early childhood, in implementation of regional law no. 24/2024.
One of the issues to which the regional government of Calabria has paid particular attention to childhood.
With the approval of the regional law n. 24 of 2024 and, in the same year, of the implementing regulation, a virtuous path was started, which aims, for the first time in Calabria, to contrast the educational poverty linked to childhood, filling the existing gap with the other Italian regions and with the rest of the European countries, guaranteeing a quality educational offer to all children and girls.
“With these guidelines – he declares The Councilor for Education of the Calabria Region, Maria Stefania Caracciolo – We continue on the path undertaken, aimed not only at implementing educational and educational services but above all to qualify them because the quality of education also passes and above all from the ability to protect and promote safe, transparent and respectful environments; They represent a concrete act of responsibility for our children, families and operators in the sector “.
The guidelines for the prevention and protection system, the result of a consultation path between the Region, Anci, USR and the most representative associations provide: the adoption of a code of conduct by the managers, with behavioral rules for staff and effective reporting methods; a prevention and protection plan, based on training, pedagogical coordination, collegiality, quality evaluation and participation of families; measures to counter work-related stress, to protect health and well-being of educators; A conscious use of digital technologies, with particular attention to the impact of smartphones on younger children.
“We are proud – concludes the commissioner Caracciolo – that Calabria is among the first regions in Italy to have issued guidelines in such a delicate and strategic sector for the development of the territory, placing itself at the forefront in promoting a pedagogical culture based on care, prevention and educational co -responsibility between institutions, families and communities. Finally, they felt the Department of Education and the whole work group that has collaborated Synergically, with competence, passion and enthusiasm, with the regional structure to achieve this important result “.
