A particularly tense morning was experienced in the Municipality of Aprigliano, where the minority municipal councilors Andrea Muto and Angelo De Paoli went to the offices to view the preliminary investigation note sent by the Court of Auditors and registered by the Authority on 7 April 2026.

Access to documents and intervention by the police

The request for access to the documents took place the day after the City Council, in which the majority approved the 2025 financial statement with a deficit of € – 2,450,000. Muto and De Paoli requested the intervention of the Carabinieri and through the mediation of the soldiers from the Aprigliano station, who intervened on site, it was possible to view the documents.

The minority’s objections to the accounts

“From the note from the Court of Auditors that we have seen, significant critical issues emerge on a financial level, with a significant deviation compared to the rebalancing plan presented by Porco”, declare the directors. The deficit as of 31 December 2025 would reportedly be € – 2 million and not € – 2,450,000 approved by the majority.

“A lot of debts, equal to around half a million euros, which have not been paid, putting the overall stability of the Municipality’s public accounts at risk”, add Muto and De Paoli, underlining how such data would not be in line with the Administration’s narrative. “Nothing could be further from the truth. The mayor is trying to place the blame for this situation on past administrations, even though he has been managing for seven years, and is further burdening the organization with new debts”, continue the councilors.

Finally, the minority highlights how it was the current administration that “requested the predisposition immediately”, and attributes to the mayor “the responsibility for the failure to comply with the plan for approximately half a million euros in a single year”.
