“The dear energy weighs importantly on the shoulders of small and micro craftsmen and the geopolitical framework arouses even greater concern, making us fear that the increases may not stop”. To launch the alarm is the President CNA Calabria Giovanni Cugliari Which explains: “The situation is dramatic and it is even more for Calabrian companies. The economic and political turbulence that is going through Europe will undermine the competition and competitiveness of our fabric, crushed between bills and difficulties in positioning its products on the market, net of an export index still low”.
“If small businesses – which constitute the hard core of the Calabrian economy with micro – suffer, at risk there is the employment seal, therefore consumption and growth would be interested in a sharp braking” adds Cugliari who asks “Immediate and structural interventions, incentives for companies and for the establishment of renewable energy communities “.
The president also highlights how Italy is the country with the highest energy costs in the Eurozone. In the first half of 2024 the cost in Euro for MWH was 348.3 euros in Italy, while the average of the 20 countries monitored by the Eurostat touched 294 euros (+18.5% in Italy). But not only. There is also the scissor with large companies to be considered. According to CNA data, the Italian micro -enterprises pay the energy 2.5 times compared to large enterprises.
