Miami’s ATP 1000 (cement) is giving good results to Italian tennis. Three blues still in the race: in the female Jasmine Paolini reached the quarterfinals, in the male Berrettini and Musetti have conquered the round of 16.

Matteo Berrettini

Matteo Berrettini started the tournament with a comeback victory against the Frenchman Hugo Gaston, imposing himself with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. This success represented the first seasonal title for the Roman tennis player, marking a return to the shape after a difficult period. In the third round, Berrettini faced the Belgian Zizou Bergs, back from a surprising victory against Andrey Rublev. In a solid match, Berrettini prevailed with a double 6-4, guaranteeing access to the round of 16. In the next round, a demanding comparison against Australian Alex de Minaur is expected.

Lorenzo Musetti

Lorenzo Musetti made his debut in the tournament with a comeback victory against the Frenchman Quentin Halys, exceeding him with a score of 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 after a battle of over two and a half hours. By demonstrating determination, Musetti has been able to recover an initial disadvantage and prevail in decisive moments. In the third round, the Carrarino will face the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, number 18 of Seeding, in a meeting that promises to be balanced.

Jasmine Paolini

In the women’s tournament, Jasmine Paolini has reached the quarterfinals, where he will face the Polish Magda Linette. This meeting represents a significant opportunity for the blue, which aims to continue its journey in the tournament after a complex start to the season. In previous direct comparisons, Linette is ahead 2-1, but Paolini won the last meeting held in Beijing last September.
