ATP Madrid, Cobolli's comeback: Tabilo beaten in three sets. Show by Sonego and Arnaldi but now comes the difficult part…

Waiting for the big blues to hit the red clay of Madrid, after yesterday's exploit Darderi it fell to Flavio Cobolli accomplish a super feat against the most popular (according to the ranking) Chilean Tabilo. After losing the first set 7-5, the Italian came back to equalize the score in the second 6-4 and close the practice in the third with another 6-4. The last set was very complicated (with Tabilo ahead 3-1 and serve) but Cobolli found the strength to get back into the match and win.

Double show

Lorenzo Sonego, however, beat the Frenchman Richard Gasquet and qualified for the second round and Jannik Sinner awaits him. The Turin n. 52 in the world won with a score of 6-2, 7-5 over the 37-year-old from France, currently n.116, in just under an hour and a half of play.

Even more easily, Matteo Arnaldi beat the Australian O'Connell in two sets (6-4/6-1). On the horizon is the terrible Medvedev.
