The intense awareness campaigns of the weapon against the scams to the elderly produce important results, as demonstrated by theYesterday afternoon arrest by a young Campania, operated by the Carabinieri of Castrovillari in the central Corso Garibaldi.
It is 17:30 and an elderly lady receives a phone call from a self -styled carabiniere: the man explains to the woman that his son had shortly before invested a passerby and that it was necessary to compensate the damage with a few thousand euros, to be delivered to a collaborator who would have passed shortly at his home.
The lady, however – also on the basis of similar facts that have happened some time ago to the aunt, always when the carabinieri managed to arrest another alleged scammer – It immediately includes what is happening and is at the game: he pretends to be worried about the fate of his son while alerting the carabinieri who hide in their home.
Shortly afterwards, in fact, a scammer – he fell this time in the skilled “trap” of the old woman – enters the house and, immediately after receiving the money from the woman, he is immediately blocked by the military.
It is evident that the acumen of the lady and the numerous awareness events have allowed to avoid the worst.
The man, in consideration of the elements collected, by virtue of the current phase of carrying out the preliminary investigations and with the fundamental coordination of the Public Prosecutor of the Republic of Castrovillari, was arrested in the act for attempted aggravated fraud, translated into prison and awaiting validation.
