“With Calabria Attattiva we want to be concretely alongside the Municipalities, helping them to improve the reception of visitors, to make mobility in the territories simpler and more sustainable and to enhance what makes each community unique with its identity, its culture, its landscapes”: this is what the Councilor for Tourism, Giovanni Calabrese, states, commenting on the new notice “Calabria Atattiva – Reception, Territorial Networks and Enhancement for the Municipalities of Calabria”.
“Our objective – continued the Councilor – is to accompany local authorities on a growth path that produces real and lasting benefits, not only in terms of tourism but also in terms of quality of life for citizens. For this reason we have made clear resources and tools available, encouraging shared and integrated projects, capable of strengthening the attractiveness of the territories and best describing the Calabria that we want to continue to build together”.
Details of the Decree and financial allocations
With Managerial Decree no. 20245 of 30 December 2025, Sector 2 “Attractiveness of the Tourist Offer – Shows – Events of Tourist and Cultural Significance”, published on 27 January, the Department of Tourism, Territorial Marketing, Sustainable Mobility and Local Public Transport approved the public notice making available a total financial allocation of 617,000 euros, from the funds of the Regional Law n. 13/1985. The application deadline is February 23rd.
“The notice – explained the general manager of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Territorial Identity, Roberto Cosentino – is aimed at supporting the Calabrian municipalities in strengthening tourist reception services, in developing mobility towards cultural and naturalistic attractions and in the integrated valorisation of the territory, promoting coordinated, sustainable interventions capable of generating concrete benefits for local communities”.
Beneficiaries and financeable interventions
The Municipalities of the Calabria Region can submit an application for participation, both individually and through associative forms between local authorities, including Unions of Municipalities and temporary aggregations established specifically for the presentation and implementation of the projects.
The available resources will be able to finance interventions ranging from tourist reception services, such as info points, orientation desks and digital tools for using the territory, to tourist transport and dedicated mobility services, including connections to cultural, naturalistic and landscape hubs, shuttle services and sustainable mobility solutions.
The notice also supports professional services in the tourism sector, such as guides and tour leaders, interpreters and other qualified profiles, as well as initiatives to enhance the territorial heritage, including thematic itineraries, identity itineraries, territorial animation activities and innovative promotion tools.
Contribution ceilings and strategic vision
The maximum contribution that can be granted for each project is equal to 50,000 euros and can cover up to 100% of eligible expenses. The Calabria Region continues to invest in tourism as a strategic lever for local and territorial development and this opportunity is confirmation of the path started by President Roberto Occhiuto.
