The extraordinary commission has been installed today at the Municipality of Badolato (CZ) Composed of the vice prefect, Costanza Pino, by the Vice -prefect added, Alessandro Mellace and the economic – financial official, Berardino Nuovo.
The aforementioned body follows the resolution of the Council of Ministers adopted in the meeting of 18.04,2025 to the outcome of in -depth investigations from which forms of interference of organized crime in the political – bureaucratic structure of the local authority emerged, which caused serious prejudice for the interests of the community.
The Commission, appointed by decree of the President of the Republic of 23.04,2025, is in charge of the management of the Municipality of Badolato for the duration of eighteen months and exercises, up to the settlement of the elective bodies, in accordance with the law, the attributions due to the city council, to the municipal council and to the Mayor as well as any power and assignment connected to the same in order to remedy the situation of pollution and deterioration of the municipal administration and start, a restoration process.
The city council of Badolato had been dissolved ordinary for resignation of councilors less than half of the members as a consequence of the judicial police operation by the District Anti -Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro last January 2025.
Before the settlement, the members of the extraordinary commission intended to greet the prefect of Catanzaro.
