1.719 billion account for Italian banks with the release of capital reserves accumulated for the 2023 law on extra profits. The mechanism envisaged in the maneuver provides that banks that do not release the reserves accumulated in the past in order not to pay 40% on extra profits will be able to do so in 2026 at 27.5%. Below is the expenditure in millions of euros for the main banking groups with the theoretical tax due at 40% and the hypothesis at 27.5%, based on data processed by Fabi.
