On the night between Friday and Saturday, the Carabinieri of the Company of Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto have carried outo extraordinary control activities of the territory On the entire inhabited center of Longano, implemented through the intensification of patrols, with particular attention to the areas most frequented by young people, with the preparation of targeted services aimed at preventing and contrasting crimes in general, especially predatory types, those connected to the shop and use of drugs, as well as irregular driving conduct and violations of the highway code.
During the checks, carried out mainly in the urban areas affected by the greatest youth aggregation, including Piazza “Beppe Alfano”, Piazza “Mercato” and in the urban park “Maggiore Giuseppe La Rosa”, 45 people were controlled, including 20 foreign citizens, and 20 cars.
During the service, several fines were elevated to the Highway Code, including driving without a license and excessive speed in inhabited centers, conduct, the latter, which put in serious danger the safety of motorists and pedestrians. The extraordinary service has been aimed above all for prevention purposes, in particular against the various illegal pipes that can affect the safety of the urban center.
The activity carried out is part of the prevention and contrast to the crimes, implemented by the military of the weapon in the area of the whole province.
