First aid closed for over 4 years: “clearance” from the region to the ASP of Messina to start the process aimed at temporary extension of the emergency-urgency service. That vital and central garrison of the Cutroni Zodda Hospital for whose salvation, at the end of 2022, fifty thousand Barcelonesi of all ages went down to the square: from movements to parties, from schools to unions, to expressions of the Church. The path is still long but has matured, between Palermo and Messina, a political-administrative turn. “Now the reopening is possible,” says the regional deputy of FDL, Pino Galluzzo, member of the sixth commission to the Ars. And again: “The ASP asked and obtained from the regional health department to temporarily outsource the emergency room service of the Barcelonese hospital in order to allow its reopening”. The green light at the temporary externalization took place after the authorization issued in recent weeks by the general manager of the Asp Giuseppe Cuccì who, in turn, had accepted the requests of the mayors of the 13 municipalities of the Barcelona district.
