Befana in Piazza Duomo and procession of the Three Kings: the Epiphany events in Messina

Tomorrow, Tuesday 6 January, as part of the program “The magical events of Christmas in Messina”, promoted by the Municipal Administration, Piazza Duomo will be transformed into a stage of tradition and entertainment with two events dedicated to the Befana and the Three Kings.

Befana Flash Mob in the Square

Duomo At 11.30, for the first time, the city will welcome the Befana with a lively Flash Mob, organized by the ON STAGE Company, directed by Paride Acacia and Sarah Lanza. A group of Befane, accompanied by festive music, will liven up the square, giving an engaging performance full of joy for all those present.

The Procession of the Three Kings

At 12.15 pm, immediately after the bell tower carousel, the traditional procession of the Three Kings will start, now in its third edition. The event, organized by the Tercio Viejo de Sicilia Association in collaboration with the Cathedral Basilica, the Historical Group of Mili and the Coachmen and Groom Association of Messina, will see the three Wise Men – Gaspare, Melchiorre and Baldassare – parade accompanied by shepherds and bagpipes.

The procession will start from Piazza Unione Europea, will travel along via Garibaldi and Largo S. Giacomo, to finally arrive in front of the Cathedral. Here, the Magi will place their gifts at the Nativity set up in the INPS Gallery, thanks to the contribution of the students of the Graphic-Multimedia specialization of the Seguenza High School.
