It will be a growing Black Friday also in Calabria. According to an estimate by Confcommercio Calabria, based on national Confcommercio–Format Research data, 60% of Calabrian consumers will make purchases, with an expected average expenditure of 225 euros, lower than the Italian average (268 euros) but an improvement compared to 2024.
In the region, shopping will be driven above all by electronics, household appliances and clothing. 46% of consumers will choose a hybrid mode between physical and online stores, while 27% will purchase only on the web and approximately 26–28% exclusively in stores. Attendance in shopping centers is growing.
On the digital communication front, web advertising (38%), artificial intelligence (30%) and Instagram (26–27%) confirm themselves as the main drivers of purchasing choices.
For the fashion sector, Confcommercio estimates that between 55% and 58% of shops will participate in Black Friday, with promotions concentrated on 1-3 days and discounts mainly on selected items, however “It is essential to maintain balance – underlines Maria Santagada Director of Confcommercio Calabria – because a prolonged “black week” risks confusing consumers and depriving the work of traders of value. The direct relationship, personalized consultancy and quality of service remain the real strengths of the traditional detail”.
Finally, the association invites consumers to support local commerce: “Behind every shop window there are stories, professionalism and families who work every day to offer quality, safety and attention to the customer. Choosing a local shop means investing in your community”.
