Financiers of the Provincial Command of Potenza, in recent days, as part of a service aimed at the prevention and repression of illicit trafficking, arrested a 36-year-old man originally from Gambia in flagrante delicto for drug trafficking.
In the Galdo area of the Municipality of Lauria (Pz), the financiers of the Lauria Company noticed the presence of the man, who was particularly nervous and who, in a suspicious manner, was trying to hide his backpack over his shoulder.
Suspicious of his attitude, the Lucanian financiers, with the help of the drug-sniffing dog Kiril of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza of Matera, carried out an inspection of the backpack in which, in a hermetically sealed plastic bag, there was a block of 100 grams of hashish. The drugs were seized.
According to the investigators, the narcotic was intended to supply the drug dealing areas of a municipality in the province of Cosenza, where the man arrested is a resident, and, if placed on the market, would have brought him illicit proceeds of around 1500 euros.
The thirty-six year old is now in the Potenza prison.
