The Crotone Coast Guard intervened to provide assistance to a sailing vessel in difficulty, adrift due to an engine failure off the coast of Crotone. Having received the request for assistance via the emergency number at sea 1530, the immediate intervention of a patrol boat was arranged, which reached the vessel and identified it in the open sea. On board the vessel were two Norwegian citizens, both in good health, who reported that they could not continue navigation due to engine failure and the impossibility of steering under sail. Considering the weather and sea conditions present in the area, the personnel of the Crotone Coast Guard provided assistance to the vessel up to the port of Crotone, where the vessel was safely taken and moored.
