After almost four years of waiting, the bonus intended for separate parents in difficulty with the payment of the maintenance allowance is finally about to be paid. The head of the Department for Family Policies has signed the decree that will allow 4,428 beneficiaries to receive the check, on the occasion of the Father’s Day.
The bonus, established in 2021 by the Draghi government within one of the decrees of the pandemic supports and promoted in particular by the League, had a troubled process. Initially criticized in order not to include the de facto couples and for the risk that the funds would not arrive at the children, has undergone numerous changes before being definitively included in the tax decree connected to the late 2021 maneuver. However, the issuance of the implementation decree required further time due to problems related to the requirements and contrasts between the family department and INPS, only recently resolved.
Of the 10 million euros allocated initially, 8.5 million are distributed for now. The INPS will pay around 1,900 euros per head to the beneficiaries, a significantly lower figure than the maximum initially expected roof of 9,600 euros. Further resources await the conclusion of the checks on a hundred requests are set aside.
Out of a total of 6,486 applications submitted, approximately 2,000 were rejected for several reasons: failure to confirm the reduction in income of 30% requested by the legislation, the absence of the required requirements, inconsistency of the period considered to be compared to that established by the law or lack of the Court act on the maintenance allowance.
Only now, after a long bureaucratic path, the funds begin to get to the recipients.
