A meticulous and attentive study that allows you to plan the necessary interventions to ensure the accessibility and visitability of public buildings, in addition to the usability of urban spaces. With this premise Botricello proposes itself as a symbolic country for overcoming architectural barriers. The city council has, in fact, adopted the elimination plan of the architectural barriers that was drawn up by the engineer Alfonso Talarico.
PEBA aims to think of a different conception of urban spaces and buildings open to the public, taking into account that architectural barriers do not concern only a minimum part of residents, but extend to all those subjects who are even temporarily in conditions of reduced mobility or that move with strollers.
A work of very complex territory analysis that has allowed the designer to carry out a careful and detailed project, focusing attention on public buildings, on worship buildings, on public use equipment by reflecting a lot on the urban mobility of the disabled and on its search for autonomy, thinking about the possible path linked to daily needs.
The mayor is very satisfied Saverio Simone Puccio: “We have obtained a regional funding that allowed us to co -finance this plan. It is a programming tool which, although mandatory by law, is often disregarded for lack of resources. For this reason, the applause goes to the regional council which has stimulated the municipalities with a co -financing call for its drafting, in order to allow an improvement in urban quality and public buildings”.
The mayor Puccio underlined “the importance of respect for the rights of all, in particular of the most fragile people and the editorial staff of PEBA has made it possible to ascertain that many critical issues do not only concern architectural aspects, but behavioral attitudes that go to harm the right to mobility of the most fragile people. Just think of cars parked in reserved areas, on accessible sidewalks or obstructing the normal paths. Schools of all levels and degrees to understand the importance and respect for human diversity “.
The project also provides for the use of a questionnaire to make citizens participate in this way that will thus be able to report further critical issues or that can be created in the future in the future and keep alive that constant dialogue between the administration and the citizens who is the basis of the municipal body.
