There is also the suspension of two teachers of the “Pertini Santoni” institute in the new operation conducted yesterday by the Crotone carabinieri against the alleged “private” management of the school by the former principal Ida Sisca. The former vice-principal Francesca Arcuri, 52, and the 64-year-old Lucia Rita Muscò ended up under accusation, having to answer for various reasons for the crimes of extortion, false ideology and fraud.

In detail, the Crotone Prosecutor’s Office accuses Arcuri of having falsified, in 2022, the minutes of a selection for the hiring of 25 professional educators to support disabled students. How? According to the investigators, the 52-year-old falsely certified the receipt of applications that were never received for the sole purpose of facilitating a candidate who did not meet the requirements to take part in the selection. Consequently, the “recommended” competitor was found to have a score of 1.60 when in reality no evaluation had ever been made on the same candidate.

But Arcuri is also accused of a series of alleged omissions which would have allowed the daughter of the former school director Sisca to be in service at the “Pertini Santoni” despite numerous absences. In this way, the “absentee” teacher would have been favored for two reasons: on the one hand because she would have avoided disciplinary proceedings against her; on the other hand, she would have been unduly paid over 3,300 euros which were not owed as she was not present in the classroom.

Instead Muscò, in her capacity as deputy head teacher of the “Pertini Santoni”, would have drawn up irregular documents in 2022 to ensure that an external candidate could take the supplementary exams for the surveyor’s qualification. And so, after the exam teachers had refused to ensure her promotion “by force”, the 64-year-old apparently put pressure on the same commissioners by reporting the position of principal Sisca.

Which – the investigators reconstructed – threatened not to issue teachers with authorization to practice the profession for the following school year. Charges which were rejected by the two suspects during the preliminary investigations which were held before the investigating judge of the Court of Crotone, Elisa Marchetto, before the application of precautionary measures against them.
