The poor Brigante will never see his master again. He doesn’t know this and waits for his human father, from whom he never separated, to come through the door. Brigante was the cat of Mario Falcone, the well-known writer and screenwriter from Messina who was the author of successful fiction films broadcast on national TV, who unfortunately died a week ago after an illness. The affectionate cat with big green eyes watched over him by the bed before family and friends arrived. He remained close to him until the end. Brigante experiences a new mourning after losing his brother Carlito, who was also adopted by the screenwriter, to cancer two months ago. The two cats were inseparable and were a source of inspiration for many of Falcone’s novels and manuscripts who made them famous in his books, imagining that they talked to each other while sitting and looking out the window at the landscape. Brigante was left alone and out of fear of never seeing Mario again he didn’t eat for a few days. Taken into custody by the volunteers of the Aipae Messina Cuccioli Rescue association and by Lav who temporarily found him a private shelter. This is a temporary arrangement given the urgency of a very delicate situation. “Brigante – says Cristina – needs a safe place and the warmth of a new family that can love him, just as Mario did who, with a gesture of great generosity six years ago, adopted him and his brother so as not to separate them. We hope that there is someone among Mario’s many friends and admirers who in his memory can share our appeal to adopt him”
