Strong, tenacious, combative and with a strong sensitivity. Able to understand and read the moment and work to provide answers to people’s needs. All qualities that we found in the women we saw taking part in the regional elections. And they are the real news of this electoral round. Especially in Corigliano Rossano, the third largest city in Calabria by population, which will be represented on the benches of Palazzo Campanella by 4 women, equally distributed between the majority and the opposition. There are two confirmations: that of Pasqualina Straface of Forza Italia and that of Luciana De Francesco of Fratelli d’Italia, both in the Occhiuto majority. They are joined by the new entries, who will sit on the opposition benches: Rosellina Madeo of the Democratic Party and Elisa Scutellà of the Five Star Movement. Different stories, same passion. It had never happened in the past that the local representation included all women in the Region. A tangible sign of change and renewal. A “pink wind” blowing from north-eastern Calabria, someone has defined it, a sign of the times and a choice of the voters.
