“We are ready to give life to a very important project that will completely redesign the entire entrance to the city of Vibo Valentia from via degli Artigiani. In the area of the bus terminal we are preparing to carry out three separate interventions, for a total amount of 3.8 million euros, to give back to the city and to the many commuters who reach it for study or work reasons, a comfortable, welcoming place equipped with all services”.
The mayor of Vibo Valentia, Enzo Romeo, intends to inform citizens about the projects that the administration is implementing for the overall reorganization and redevelopment of the bus terminal in via degli Artigiani, and the related processes that are being defined. All the procedures are followed at every step by the councilor for public works, Salvatore Monteleone, who together with the managers and officials is making sure to speed up each procedure to reach the conclusion of the works in the shortest time possible.
THE PLANNED PROJECTS
“The building that housed the operations center, which in the next few hours will see a decisive cleaning intervention and restoration of decorous conditions, will become – explains Mayor Romeo – the headquarters of the Vibo Valentia Employment Center, thanks to a redevelopment project financed with 1.9 million euros of PNRR funds. The executive project will arrive within the next week.
Another project, worth 1 million euros, is that of the Porta station: that is, the entire area around the building will be completely redeveloped with the reconstruction of avenues, sidewalks, shelters, car parks, green areas and bus maneuvering areas for the departure and arrival of passengers.
Finally, there is a third work planned, the executive project of which has already been approved, which involves the construction of the gateway to the historic centre: the entire area of the so-called “pyramid”, in the Ottocanali area, will become a key hub for the city’s traffic system. Here, in fact, the stops and terminus of two of the urban local public transport lines will be located, which is another point in which we have invested a lot. Our transport plan, in fact, has already been viewed and appreciated by the Calabria Region, which will shortly give us the positive feedback necessary to conclude all the administrative procedures. From this area, therefore, those who wish can leave the car and decide whether to walk along the access road to the historic center or use a city bus to reach the center or even the more external areas up to the cemetery and the castle.
All this – concludes the mayor – demonstrates the great attention that the municipal administration reserves for an area, and for a work, which will prove to be very precious for all citizens and all users, included in an overall project for the redevelopment of one of the entrance gates to the city of Vibo Valentia”.
