The checks by the Carabinieri of the Santo Stefano station in Aspromonte continue unabated, engaged in a targeted prevention and road safety action.
In recent weeks the military has intensified checks on the circulation of vehicles, focusing in particular on the irregular use of quads and motocross bikes in the urban and rural areas of the municipal territory.
The intervention arises from the need to combat an increasingly widespread phenomenon: the circulation of unregistered or uninsured vehicles, often driven by people without helmets and in violation of the most basic safety standards. A practice which, in addition to representing a serious danger to public safety, generates disturbance to the peace and environmental degradation in the areas concerned.
After a phase of observation and monitoring of the most sensitive points – in particular in peripheral areas, along mountain paths and secondary roads – the Carabinieri identified and stopped several drivers, proceeding to seize numerous vehicles and issue fines for lack of insurance, license plate and inspection.
The activity is part of a broader territorial control strategy promoted by the Carabinieri Company Command of Villa San Giovanni, aimed not only at repressing illicit conduct, but also at preventing accidents and ensuring civil and safe coexistence within the community.
The checks will continue in the coming weeks, particularly on weekends and in the areas of greatest tourist influx, to ensure constant monitoring and discourage further episodes of reckless driving.
