The four finalists of the Caccuri literary prize announcednow in its 14th edition, which will be held from 27 July to 10 August in the ancient town of the Upper Crotone, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The four finalists chosen by the Scientific Committee chaired by Giordano Bruno Guerri are Monica Maggioniwith “spectra” (Longanesi), exploration of the political and social ghosts that shake our time; Gad Lerner With «Gaza. Hatred and love for Israel “(Feltrinelli), who accompanies readers in the heart of one of the most complex and painful conflicts of the contemporary; Alessandro Sallusti with “liberal heresy” (Rizzoli), which relaunches the debate on freedom and liberal thought; Gennaro Sangiuliano with «Trump. Life of a president against all “(Mondadori), portrait of the man who has shocked America and the world.
“The Caccuri prize is much more than a literary appointment – said Adolfo Barone, president of the Caccuriani Academy – is an integrated cultural project that combines literature, music, theater and food and wine, contributing to the promotion of an authentic, lively and aware Calabria of its historical and human wealth”.
Under the sign of the slogan “A story to write together”, the prize is confirmed as a privileged place for comparison between authors, readers and territory. The finalist essays will be subjected to the judgment of a mixed jury consisting of 110 members, of which 30 national and 80 academic, called to decree the winner of the ambient silver tower, the work of the goldsmith Master Michele entrusted, in the final ceremony of 10 August.
