«I have signed two provisions – underlines Occhiuto – which are part of a line of continuity with the programming policies already started. The community regulation was only published on 18 September, but we had already prepared the reconnaissance activities and preparatory procedures, so as to be ready to intervene promptly. Also with regards to the 2021-2027 Revolving Fund, we wanted to accelerate the process, to quickly arrive at the presentation of the new program. It was essential to urgently approve these measures, but the resolutions will soon be brought to the attention of the Regional Council for maximum agreement with the majority. I chose that these were the first acts of the new regional government, to give a strong and concrete signal: we are already at work, and the ideas on the future of Calabria are clear and defined. Water, environment, social housing, together with healthcare, represent the priority challenges of the next five years. A few hours after my proclamation I wanted to leave a clear sign of determination and planning. Calabria starts again, and does so – he concludes – with a clear vision and a decisive pace”.
