The president of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiuto, signed the decree with which the new councilors are appointed and the related delegations assigned. “The adventure of the new council that will lead the Calabria region during my second mandate officially begins,” states the governor.
“I sincerely thank the national and regional leaders of the majority parties for the support, trust and precious collaboration they demonstrated during the electoral campaign first and in giving shape, with collegial choices, to this new government team then.
With the exception of a single technical member of the executive, all the councilors were candidates in the last regional elections, gender representation is obviously guaranteed, just as there was the right attention to territorial balances”.
Each constituency – north, centre, south – will have two representatives.
“The new council – underlines the president – will start immediately with seven councillors. But already in November we will bring the law to the Regional Council to modify the Calabrian Statute and adapt it to the new national legislation: at the end of the two scheduled readings, in the next few months, we will therefore have the possibility of expanding the team, reaching nine members. The two additional new councilors will be proposed, one each, by the League and by Noi Moderati. The most sincere wishes for good work to the vice president and the councilors”.
