Calabria Region, the Giunta mosaic is almost complete. The “substitutes” arrive in the Council

The last mile is proving to be the most difficult to travel. Roberto Occhiuto knows something about it as he deals with the final details before making the grid official with the names of the regional councillors. The governor spent the whole day yesterday filing down the details and smoothing out the edges. A matter of hours, then the new council should see the light.
A good part of the team is already defined: within the Melonians Giovanni Calabrese and Antonio Montuoro – with Daniela Iiriti and Filippo Pietropaolo ready to take over the Council with the ranks of “substitute” councilors – the Forzista Gianluca Gallo (in his place in the Chamber comes Antonio De Caprio) and the Northern League member Filippo Mancuso with the ranks of vice-president. The independent Gianpaolo Bevilacqua would make his debut for the Northern League at Palazzo Campanella. Another box taken for granted is that of Marcello Minenna, a technician closely monitored by the President with the task of keeping the Region’s accounts in order. The women’s quota match will be decided at the photo finish: two boxes in a seven councilor council. Pasqualina Straface, elected in Forza Italia in the Northern constituency, hopes for a place in the sun: her immediate entry into the Executive would open the doors of the Regional Council to Mario Occhiuto’s brother-in-law, Piercarlo Chiappetta. There is a real three-way tug of war taking place on the last position up for grabs.
