Yet another day of frantic negotiations, but the white smoke isn’t there yet. Roberto Occhiuto thought he would close the Giunta puzzle within a few days and instead he is continuing to work (and not a little) to find the right fit between the available boxes. The requests from allies and party colleagues are making the process much more complicated than previously expected.
However, there are some fixed points in the 7-member Executive. In the last few hours the re-elected governor has, in fact, made official the two councilors in the Fratelli d’Italia quota: Giovanni Calabrese and Antonio Montuoro. No surprise, in the sense that the two names were the most accredited among the Melonian ranks. The representatives of the prime minister’s party should be given important mandates – not Healthcare which will remain, after leaving the commissionerate, under the aegis of the president – such as Work, Environment and Productive Activities.
