«After twelve years of failed management, the current municipal administration of Reggio Calabria is desperately trying to package one last title to spend in the next municipal electoral campaign: an alleged “primacy” in the Generational Impact Assessment (Vig). A pompous title, but in reality devoid of concrete meaning, useful only to distract citizens from the disaster they see every day with their own eyes.” Thus begins the latest attack by Massimo Ripepi, minority municipal councilor and president of the Control and Guarantee commission, against the Falcomatà administration.
«Because while Reggio Calabria – continued Ripepi – is last in the 2024 quality of life ranking of Il Sole 24 Ore (107th out of 107 provinces), penultimate in the 2025 urban ecosystem ranking and with a mayor who has fallen to 89th place out of 97 in the “governance poll 2025” recording a drop in preferences of 11.5%, Falcomatà and councilor Romeo think it best to organize a trip to Brussels with a large municipal delegation, at the expense of the citizens.
An initiative that would have made sense at the beginning of the mandate to build relations with Europe, certainly not today, a few months after the end of the most inconclusive administration in the city’s recent history.”
