The new Regional Council of Calabria has sanctioned the institutional launch of “substitute” councilors, provided for by the Statute in the event of the appointment of elected councilors appointed by the council.
Yesterday at Palazzo Campanella the new arrivals involved four new councilors, five if we consider the subrogation due to Wanda Ferro’s resignation as councilor. They are Antonio De Caprio (FI), Piercarlo Chiappetta (FI), Daniela Iiriti (FdI), Gianpaolo Bevilacqua (Lega) and Filippo Pietropaolo (FdI).
For Iiriti, entering the “Fortugno” Chamber of the Regional Council was experienced «with great emotion and responsibility. We begin a new life path at the service of citizens and the territory. I am honored to offer my contribution in the highest political forum of the region. There will be no shortage of work to project us into a better future for Calabria in the continuity started by President Occhiuto.”
For Pietropaolo it is a return, this time as a councilor: «It is a special day – he told us -. The experience I gained in the four years with the first Occhiuto council, including as vice president, was very important. I am sure that with the Fratelli d’Italia group we will continue to offer the right contribution to the Region.”
For De Caprio «this continuity in the leadership of the Calabria Region requires us to continue along the path traced by President Occhiuto and before that by the late Jole Santelli. So a push towards the future with the awareness of what has been done in the last six years, but with the awareness that the road is still long. We still have to achieve many objectives that we have set ourselves and that we talked about during the election campaign.”
For Bevilacqua «it is a day of great emotion and satisfaction for my city and my territory. This political continuity at the helm of the Region is a positive signal for the good of Calabria and I believe it will only bring good.”
