The Port System Authority of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas, based in Gioia Tauro, chaired by Paolo Piacenza, with a favorable opinion from the Board of Auditors, has approved the final budget for the 2025 financial year.
«The 2025 financial year – we read in a note – closed with an administration surplus of 128,900,497 euros, of which over 92 million were restricted, mainly intended for investments with financial effects in subsequent years and 36,608,017 euros of free resources. On the revenue side, total resources of 91,368,249 euros were ascertained. Of these, current revenues amount to 19,854,999 euros, while tax revenues stand at 14,980,904 euros, with an increase of 126,394 euros compared to the established forecast (14,854,510 euros)”.
On the expenditure front, «current expenditure amounts to 11,237,977 euros, with a realization rate of 18.19% and capital expenditure at 71.69 million euros. Among the significant current expenditure items, we highlight operating expenses equal to 5.3 million euros while, on the investment front, commitments of over 2.2 million euros were recorded with a degree of realization equal to 93.56%”. After examining the budget, the committee proceeded to approve the 2025 annual report. The document summarizes the activity carried out by the AdSP of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas during 2025, covering organisational, planning, operational, infrastructural, financial and state-owned aspects. The Report highlights «the full achievement (100%) of the strategic objectives set for 2025 by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. Finally, the Committee resolved on the renewal of a state concession in the port of Vibo Valentia Marina and the release of a new state concession in the port complex of Gioia Tauro. In addition to President Paolo Piacenza, Salvatore Gaetano, representative of the Calabria Region, Rear Admiral Giuseppe Sciarrone, maritime director of Calabria and Tyrrhenian Lucania, Massimo Galante, designated by the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, and Natale Polimeni, designated by the Municipality of Gioia Tauro, participated in the works.
