Camigliatello Silano will be the point of reference for Italian men’s youth volleyball for the summer of 2026. The official presentation of the men’s national youth teams will be held on Thursday 5 June at the “Giordanello” Sports Hall, which includes the representatives of the Mediterranean Games Group, Under 22, Under 20, Under 18 and Under 17. The event will mark the start of a series of meetings and collegiate meetings that the Italian selections will carry out in the location in Sila in preparation for the next European and international events, confirming once again the centrality of the Calabrian territory in the programs of the Italian Volleyball Federation.
The highest institutional and sporting authorities will attend the ceremony. Present on behalf of the National FIPAV will be the Vice President Massimo Sala, the Federal Councilors Giusy Piredda and Marco Mari, Matteo Piano, former Italian player and now a point of reference for federal communication, as well as Franco Bertoli and Claudio Galli, former protagonists in the history of Italian volleyball and currently involved in the Federation’s training activities.
The June 5th event will also open a weekend dedicated to the training and cultural growth of the volleyball movement. On Saturday 6 June Matteo Piano will be the speaker at the conference dedicated to the athlete’s digital communication, a highly topical topic that concerns the management of personal image, presence on social media and the relationship between sport and communication. Sunday 7 June the lawyer. Marilena Petronelli will delve into the psychological aspects linked to sports practice, with particular attention to the issues of Safeguarding and the protection of athletes. Afterwards, Franco Bertoli and Claudio Galli will lead a moment of discussion dedicated to identity, the sense of belonging and the values that characterize the growth path of athletes.
The initiative, promoted as part of the collaboration between the Italian Volleyball Federation and the Sila area, represents an important opportunity for sports promotion and enhancement of Calabria, called to welcome some of the best talents of the national volleyball scene.
For the Fipav Calabria Regional Committee and for the FIPAV Cosenza Territorial Committee it is an event of particular prestige, capable of combining high-level sporting activity, training and promotion of the educational values of sport, in a context which will see the future Italian volleyball players as protagonists.
