Ten million euros for the city of Reggio, and another 5 million for the Cannitello coast, spread between 2027 and 2029. However, a treasure not to be thrown away, which in the first case will be very useful for the future mayor of Reggio. «Whoever he is», the centre-right candidate for mayor, Francesco Cannizzaro, is keen to point out, who called a press conference, in conjunction with the parliamentary vote on the “Emergency Decree” in the Chamber to announce the approval of a new loan for the Reggio area. On the one hand, 10 million euros, divided into three tranches: 3 million for the year 2027; 2.5 million for 2028 and 4.5 million for the year 2029, for the city of Reggio. Plus a loan of 5 million euros, divided into two tranches, between 2028 and 2029, in favor of the Metropolitan City “as beneficiary and implementer” for interventions to consolidate and protect the coast and the areas facing the Cannitello coast. «I am very satisfied – he began – because it was not at all obvious to obtain this result for Reggio, but also for Villa San Giovanni. Through my amendment, also convincingly signed by my colleague Giovanni Arruzzolo, we managed to intervene within the Emergency Legislative Decree and draw the attention of the Government and in particular of the Ministry of the Environment and therefore of the Mase towards the city of Reggio and towards the city seafront which, not only due to the storms, is in pitiful conditions”.
