Memory, current events, literature, cinema, discussion and conviviality. It is the eighth edition of Estate a Casa Berto, the festival directed by Antonia Berto and Marco Mottolese which opens every year, in Capo Vaticano, the doors of the Calabrian residence of the writer Giuseppe Berto, scheduled from 7 to 10 September.
«Remembering the name of the author of Dark Evil every summer to hypothesize new horizons, marking new routes in the territory involving artists, writers, filmmakers and journalists – say Berto and Mottolese – is the line we have been following for eight years, celebrating, in a mythological place as Vatican Head, Berto’s intuitions, his literary revolution, and involving a community that always manages to give something special in this that we call family festival, because the show is not only on stage but in the magic of the land that hosts us and in the spontaneous and sincere conviviality between those who perform the show and those who watch”. Four days overlooking the Costa degli Dei with a view of Stromboli and the Aeolian Islands, in the garden of the estate where Berto built his retreat and where the house is located where, in two months, he wrote The Dark Evil, a masterpiece of the second half of the twentieth century Italian.
Present this year, among others: Emanuele Trevi, Premio Strega 2021, Giancarlo Loquenzi, host of Zapping, Anna Ammirati, actress, Rodrigo D’Erasmo, musician, Valeria Montebello, podcaster and innovative journalist, Domenico Pinelli, actor, Luca Lucini, director, Anna Mallamo, Nick Ceramella and Raffaele Gaetano. «For years – states Nicola Tripodi, mayor of Ricadi – the festival has offered the best of literature, cinema and journalism in the Italian panorama and beyond. In the approximately 40 kilometers in which the Costa degli Dei extends, Ricadi remains a flagship thanks to initiatives like this, which do not only aim at the naturalistic charm of a place, but which through an excellent program becomes a hotbed of culture and ideas”. The doors of Giuseppe Berto’s house-museum will open on September 7th for the first appointment. The eighth edition will be inaugurated by Emanuele Trevi who will present his new book The Magician’s House, published by Ponte alle Grazie.
