A serious accident occurred today around 2pm. 30 on the A2 between Rosarno and Gioia Tauro. A Fiat Panda White Series 2 fell into a ravine for several meters after having broken through the guard rail on the highway. Father and son traveled in the Fiat Panda, who were seriously injured, after the violent impact against the soil. The two men were extracted from the vehicle by the firefighters, whose collision reduced it to heaps of sheet metal. The ambulances of 118 and the helicopter rescue intervened on the spot, who transported father and son to the Riuniti hospital in Reggio Calabria. According to the first reconstructions of the road accident, the Panda came from Rosarno and probably went to Gioia Tauro. Due to the accident, the motorway section has been blocked in both directions to allow the police to reconstruct what happened, to allow the rescue operations and to extract the car from the ravine.
