The Meloni Government’s commitment to guaranteeing legality and safety in Italian prisons takes a further step forward.

With the conclusion of the 185th Penitentiary Police Student Course, 2060 new officers will enter service in Italian penitentiary institutions.
In particular, 2 units will come into service at the Messina prison and 5 units will come into service at Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto.

“The tragic policies of abandonment wanted by the left are now a bad distant memory. We promised to improve the working situation of those who work in prisons: we have done it and we will continue to do so, as with the next 186th Student Course of 3246 units and with the competition announced in July this year for a further 653 units”, declares the Undersecretary of State for Justice Andrea Delmastro delle Vedove.

“These new hires once again certify the reversal of direction of the Meloni Government compared to the serious negligence of those who preceded us. These new assignments will be able to alleviate the suffering that Penitentiary Police officers experience every day inside Italian prisons. I thank Undersecretary Delmastro for his constant commitment towards the Penitentiary Police, I will continue to work alongside him for the good of our territory”, declares Senator FdI Ella Bucalo.
