Even in the case of the Sibari Lakes we move, in a very short time, from the abstract to the concrete and from words to facts. This is the important outcome that emerged during the new meeting held yesterday in the mayor’s office Giovanni Papasso. In addition to the mayor, the head of the Technical Area, an engineer, was present Luigi Serra Cassano, the head of the Environment Office, engineer Antonio De Marco, the head of the maintenance team, Peppino Perrithe engineer Giuseppe D’Ambrogiomanager of the Teodoro D’Ambrogio company, specialized in drinking water purification and which is entrusted with the management of the Sibarita nautical complex plant, and the Engineer Maurizio Gimiglianospecialized in water treatment, to whom the Institution’s offices have entrusted the drafting of the project to renovate the Sibari Lakes drinking water plant.
Engineer Gimigliano himself gave those present the document which will then be officially approved and with which the contract will then be awarded. This intervention follows what was decided in the city council in December when, in the budget forecast for the three-year period 2025-2027, the municipal administration provided for an allocation of 400 thousand euros for the implementation of an intervention necessary for the complete restoration of the plant purification of the Sibari Lakes. Mayor Papasso was satisfied and commented that there will be other incisive actions next week given the seriousness of the situation found in the Sybarite nautical complex.
“As we anticipated only a few months ago – commented Papasso – and I remember that the water purification plant has only been in our hands since September, in record time we move from words to deeds. Today we already have the project in hand and are ready for assignment. Our objective was immediately to intervene on the aforementioned system which, in fact, has not worked for years and perhaps has never worked, in order to overcome the problem of drinking water in the shortest possible time. I would like to point out that not even during the Christmas holidays we were stopped: the purging of the pipeline and some operations on the system continued, including the cleaning of the tanks, another intervention perhaps never carried out before given the state in which we found them. Now we are ready for the next and decisive step to bring drinking water back to the Sibari Lakes”.
