The attention of the municipal administration led by the mayor Giovanni Papasso for building renovation remains high. After the financing for the construction of five new school canteens in the municipal area, this week the offices presented a request for two and a half million euros for the demolition and reconstruction of the middle school in via Feliciazza in the hamlet of Lauropoli.
The request was submitted to the Single Fund for School Buildings. The aforementioned Fund is intended for interventions on state public buildings, necessary following seismic vulnerability checks and for energy requalification interventions.
The resources amount to a total of 33.703 million euros; each entity can submit only one financing application, relating to a single building and the disbursement of the resources will be arranged directly by the MIM with the following steps: 30% advance financing upon request of the beneficiary local authority; the remaining sum based on work progress, equal to 60% and 90% net of the tender discount; the remaining 10% paid following testing.
«As municipal administration – commented the mayor Giovanni Papasso in communicating the news to citizens and professionals – since the beginning of our mandate We have always aimed to offer our children modern, safe and up-to-date school facilities where the ruling class of the Cassano of tomorrow can be formed. We have already received over fifteen million euros for our schools and canteens but we have no intention of stopping here and so now we also aim to modernize the middle school in via Feliciazza which belongs to the Lauropoli – Sibari – Cassano Jonio Comprehensive Institute”.
