Despite the defeat in Frosinone, the fans’ comments were unanimous: the best Catanzaro of the season played at the “Stirpe”. The 2-0 achieved only in the 8th minute of injury time, and with the Giallorossi with ten men for about forty minutes, is a result that can be misleading because there was no noticeable gap between the Giallorossi and the league leaders in terms of play, opportunities and organisation.
The Lazio team had the merit of breaking the deadlock in the match thanks to the development of one corner, but had it not been for Monterisi’s great athletic gesture in elevation, the defensive device set up by Aquilani (an orderly and punctual 5-3-1 in which everyone sacrificed themselves) had not suffered who knows what and had even been treacherous with Cisse’s counterattacks. The double on the counterattack by Ghedjemis, B’s best attacking winger, was irrelevant: on the last action and against an unbalanced team looking for an unexpected draw, it could have happened.
The difference with previous matches was the lack of cynicism and incisiveness in attack. With Cesena, just to cite the closest precedent, much less was enough than the three chances had by Iemmello, the three by Pittarello and another by Cisse in Frosinone, but if so much is built at the home of the first in the table it means that the team has the keys to being dangerous anywhere and against anyone. It is a sign of maturity confirmed by the words entrusted to Instagram by Cassandro, one of the best in the challenge: «So much regret… so much awareness».
Reading the fans’ comments one could also add “a lot of anger” for the insufficient refereeing of Dionisi from L’Aquila. Not for the expulsion of Frosinini, author of a kung fu entrance which among other things the match director had missed had the VAR not called him out, but for many other wrong decisions (not only in favor of the home team). Most of all, however, the awarding of a corner to Frosinone when the last touch had been Marchizza’s and not Cassandro’s aroused perplexity and anger: on the immediately following corner the Lazio team took the lead.

Sports director Polito is always looking for a left winger: if Rui Modesto (Udinese) doesn’t unlock, watch out for a strong return on Beruatto, who is leaving Spezia. In the background remain the ideas Ioannou (Sampdoria) and Masciangelo (Frosinone). Buso goes on loan to Mantua. Training resumes in Giovino this afternoon.
