Sporting director Giuseppe Magalini is pushing with Frosinone to have defender Przemyslaw Szyminski. The 29-year-old Pole, coming out of Lazio, is an ideal profile to strengthen the department: he has experience at high levels in Serie B, a category in which he played over 130 games, and can fill all the roles of a four-man back line because, being a natural right centre-back, he was also used on both flanks during his career. Szyminski has so far not expressed great overtures towards a transfer to Catanzaro: he has requests from abroad, he would like to stay in Italy between Serie A and a B with promotion ambitions, only that in the first case the hypothesis is to be canceled (it does not fall more in the plans of the Ciociari) and in the second he would not have received concrete offers. This is why the Eagles are continuing the forcing, also helped by the momentum that Frosinone would give to the transfer: relations between the two clubs are excellent, as demonstrated by the Iemmello deal, who went on loan to Calabria in January 2022 before being bought entirely by the Giallorossi the following summer. And who knows, maybe among the sponsors of the Szyminski operation there aren’t striker and defender Brighenti, both teammates (Brighenti also captain) in the Pole’s Frosinone.
The negotiation is difficult, complicated, but deserves the commitment that Catanzaro is making. Szyminski is a great defender. In the last championship he was among the first alternatives of the team that dominated Serie B playing fifteen times (with one goal), in the previous two he had been a permanent starter for the Ciociari and, before that, he had played a lot in Palermo between 2017 and 2019 , his first destination in Italy after his experiences in the Polish first and second divisions with Wisla Plock and Rozwoj Katowice. With the Poland national team Szyminski also had three U21 caps.
In short, everything is except the latest arrival: for this reason at the “Ceravolo” they are hoping for a coup to fix the backlog. If Szyminski arrives, the Gagliolo slope (Reggina) may be completely abandoned, but he’s not sure. On the contrary, he is certainly another under-graduate in the department: between Keramitsis from Roma and Riccio from Juve Next Gen, a new name could emerge in the end given that the giallorossi remains blocked because he would like to sell him from the capital, but the boy has another year of contract, while on black and white the competition is dense and fierce. Catanzaro intends to define everything before the start of the championship.
