«It’s not an electoral campaign» but Filippo Mancuso’s exit, the first official one after the regional vote, cannot go unnoticed if seen from the perspective of the 2027 Administrative and Political elections. His entry into the field as a centre-right candidate for mayor does not appear very likely at the moment: “As a member of the League I would immediately be attacked in a specious manner.” But, he assures, in any case his lists will be there; indeed, he is already working on it with Franco Longo (city coordinator of the League). And he has a solid bond with the Northern League, he clarified: “It is thanks to this party that I have had a career that has taken me to the top of regional politics.” A little thought for Parliament? «I couldn’t see myself taking the train to Rome to raise or lower a hand. But on the other hand, if I think of the resources that Francesco Cannizzaro (now mayor of Reggio Calabria but former deputy of FI) and Giuseppe Mangialavori (president of the Budget Commission in the Chamber) have provided to their territories, then the idea tickles me.” It is not yet a declaration of intent, but the idea does not appear to be entirely worth dismissing. In any case, Mancuso claims what has been done from his current position – and before that as president of the regional council – “and I can still do a lot for the city and the central area”.
