Once the construction of the work has been secured with 105 million euros identified by the regional council, once it becomes operational, the same will ultimately need to be done to guarantee the sustainability of the surface metro. So far it has been the timing linked to the execution of the intervention that has attracted general attention. But it is already time, in view of a possible completion of at least part of the works in mid-2024, to understand how the “Pendulum” should be inserted into the capital’s transport system. Because it won’t be enough to simply activate it and let the trains travel trusting that people will start using them. It will be necessary to ensure that the flows of the various urban transport systems all converge on the metro, to ensure that the revenues necessary for its economic sustainability can be guaranteed.
