Today theExercise dedicated to the first level of the State Policein synergy with the Central Anti -Crime Directorate, Territory Control Service, organized in the “Sant’Antonio” parking lot in via Tommaso Campanella di Catanzaro, whose responsibility was entrusted to the deputy commissioner Dr. Giacomo Cimarrusti. As an observer, the requesting commissioner Paolo Lucci, II level negotiator and Head of the Coordination Unit of the State Police Coordination Unit, and the manager of the Calabria Calabria Calabria Prevention Department of Vibo Valentia, Vice, attended the training activity. Quaestor added dr. Rosario Gagliardi, as coordinator of the SICs (Teams critical interventions). The initiative has been carefully scheduled in order not to create alarmism in the population and at the same time guarantee maximum operational efficiency in emergency situations. During the exercise, a dangerous situation was simulated in which the negotiator intervention proved to be decisive. Specifically, an intervention was simulated against an Islamic, but not radicalized person of religion, who, after seeing his wife, leaving a Catholic Church, attacked her with a knife, barricading herself with her in a bar. The simulation was preceded by a briefing held yesterday, during which the crews received detailed instructions about the dynamics of the simulation. Several specialized departments intervened, including 1 Uopi Team (First Intervention Operating Units) of the Western Sicily Crime Prevention Department of Palermo, 2 crews of the Flying Squad, 2 operators of the Provincial Cabinet of Scientific Police, 1 Instructor of Operational Techniques, 1 Personal defense instructor and 1 shooting instructor, 1 doctor and 1 state police psychologist and operators of the mobile team and Digos. The event showed the high synergy between the different operational components, allowing to refine the intervention procedures in crisis situations and guarantee a timely and effective response.
